Claude entered his new classroom with pride. He had spent the entire evening setting it up. Before he had arrived, it had been a bland mix of greys. He waved his wand and a bunch of candles lit up. His class was underground so unfortunately he had no windows. Some air vents just beneath the ceiling did welcome fresh air in though. Mostly it was a damp room with heavy fumes of herbs, incense and some questionable-looking liquids.
He waved his wand and light wooden desks appeared in neat rows in front of him, contrasting lovely with the dark stone floor and walls. Cream coloured drapes hung heavily from the roof. He bought them before he had seen his new classroom, so he was unaware of the lack of windows. Luckily there were some paintings that were framed by his drapes.
He fell into the chair behind his desk and waited for his students to arrive. He hoped there were some kids with The Sight of the Beyond in his class. Those were always fun to work with. As Claude waited for the class he turned around and wrote on the blackboard. "Professor Leveque." These people had probably never seen him in his life. It would be nice if they knew his name.
When a bunch of students were sitting in front of him, he smiled politely. "Welcome to Divination," he said with an intriguing tone. "Here I will teach you an art that most people never figure out. I vow to turn each and everyone of you into the best divinator that you could possibly be before you graduate. First... to start off with some theory. Could everyone give me the name of a method of divination, please? And let's try to stay clear of the well known ones, tealeaves and such," he added with a smirk.
He sat down on his desk and allowed the children to reply to his question one by one.

Charlotte sat down in the divination classroom. This would be her second year taking divination, she had taken it last year and loved it so much she had signed up for the second year. She was excited to learn more about her inner eye and was pleased to see that this year it would be taught by professor leveque, who she had for jazz.
She listened as he explained what they would do in class that year and her hand shot up to answer the question. She knew this, she could list off a few forms of divination but only gave one to be fair to the other students. "Palmistry" she said proudly. This was a hard one and she was sure not many of her classmates knew about it.

Martin arrived at his divination classroom, panting. He usually got lost so he had decided to depart as early as possible. Though it seemed, the early leave and running caused him to be quite early. He couldn't remember this happening ever before. "Good afternoon professor," he said in his uncommon british accent. Most people at this school was french. Luckily, Martin had picked some of it up during his few years here, though he was far from fluent.
"Hey there," he said and walked to the only girl in the classroom. "You were with me in jazz class right?" he asked politely. "I'm Martin," he added and extended his hand to her. He found it interesting that the first three people in this class were the exact first three people in his jazz class.
When more people were in the classroom, and the professor started talking, he noticed that this girl was the first to answer his question. Did she have a knack for this? As far as Martin knew, that was quite rare... "Uhm..." he started when Professor Leveque looked expectantly at him. "Extispicy?" he said with a quiver in his voice. Sometimes when an animal died, he would try to divine by looking at the entrails. He would never kill an animal for that or any other reason though!

Manon floated into divination. Having always had a knack for it her great-great grandmother was of course one of the oracles at Delphi so she was proud of her somewhat blurry and unstable second sight. She knew that she had it, but to control it and to prompt it was a whole other story. She entered the class and took a seat close to the professors desks. The over all effect of the room was welcoming and pleasant.
She took out of her bag, which she had asked the Herbology professor to place an extension charm on, all of her divination equipment, including her text books, a crystal ball, a set of tarot and a purple cloth, as the professor asked the question she simply smiled, this will be easy. "Cartomancy, Astrology and a psychic sense would be Clairevoyance." she added with a smirk. Divination and Herbology were her favourite classes. She prided herself in her knowledge of the arcane arts of divination.

Maddie walked down the stairs that lead to the dungeons. She was actually in a good mood for a change. So she smiled as she entered the divinations classroom. This wasn't her favorite class but it wasn't her least favorite either. She loved the teacher though. Mr. Leveque was her favorite teacher. He just had something about him that made her, and many more like him. He also taught Jazz dance which was one of her favorite subjects, aside from Herbology and Ballet.
She sat down by one of the tables in the row behind Martin and Charlotte. She took out a text book and a quill and started doodling on it. When the teacher greeted them and asked them about the theory. She was the fourth to give him an example. "Aura interpretation" she added with a hint of annoyance in her voice. She had wanted to take Miss. Jaques's class last year but had been rejected because she apparently didn't have what it took.

Claude listened as some students gave examples of divinative methods. "Well done," he said to his class after he had heard all the answers. He turned to the blackboard where a piece of chalk had listed everything the pupils said. He sat on his desk and started with the theoretical part of the lesson.
"You all probably know palmistry. It's the study of the lines, marks and patterns on one's hand with the purpose of telling that person's fortune. Most people think of this as just looking at the length of a line and saying how long that person is going to live. It is much more complicated than this though. Webs, repetitions of patterns and angles have to be studied to deliver an accurate fortune. Many a book has been written on this subject."
He took a deep breath, looked at what's next on the list and continued with his lesson. "Extispicy is an artform that is not studied on school level. PETA has forbidden us from teaching it in our classrooms. Extispicy is indeed the study of an animal's entrails to divine the future. The fresher the animal, the better the interpretation. This is a cruel and misunderstood science, although it is also one of the most accurate means of interpreting the beyond."
"Astrology is also another commonly known one. The study of movements of heaven bodies shows a person the future, near or far. This is one of the earliest forms of divination. The Mayan's determined where they should build a settlement and when they would endure a tragedy by studying the stars. Aura interpretation though, is a lesser known art," he added and nodded proudly at Madeline. "It is taught in the subject of aura manipulation, so I won't go into it too much. This form of divination was found in the East. They studied chakras and such to develope this craft. This though is not a study of oneself or even happenings, but the sight into the future of other people," he finished off.
"I hope you all realised that I skipped cartology," he said and smiled at the girl who mentioned it first. "That is because your homework will be about this. I shall hand out the worksheets at the end of the period."
"Today, I want you to start with one of the simplest divinative crafts, scrying," he said and lifted his wand. Crystal balls floated into the air out of cardboard boxes and hovered to the students. One was placed on each table, allowing his students to peer into the misty sphere. "Let's see where your talent lies," he said with a smirk. "I'll come to your desk, and you tell me what you see and what you think it means. Pointers for symbolism are on page 289."
Claude walked over to Mignonette and lowered himself to say in her ear. "Psychic senses will be studied in your last year at Beauxbatons."
