Gabrielle’s sight followed man’s finger that was pointing to the other side of the road. She frowned, wondering what would Victoire do in such tiny spooky alley? She was about to ask him if he’d seen where she went but then he pointed at some picture in the newspaper. The brunette witch froze, her gaze fixed on the photo. She knew right away who it was, Nadia Ombrelune, the sadistic, soulless woman who was an icon of pure evil. Everyone feared her, the secret panic was getting bigger every time someone went missing or got killed. Gabrielle looked up at the man, her mind completely blank. She noticed he put hand on her shoulder as a reassuring gesture but she didn’t feel reassured at all. She was now scared. Victoire was missing, probably kidnapped by the most evil person in France. Things were not good and Gabrielle had to act now. She blinked few times, trying to focus on what the man was saying. He said he worked for the Ministry and was ready to help her look for Vic.
“I don’t think looking for her would make any difference. Right now she’s probably somewhere... I don’t even know what happens to people in such situations!”, she exclaimed, shaking her head in helplessness. Paris was too big for the two of them to scour it, it would take ages to shake it all up and down. And even though, there was no guarantee that Victoire was still in town. She might have been taken to any place in France, or even in the world for that matter. And when she thought it can’t get any worse, the first drop of rain fell on her eyelashes. The young witch looked up, remembering the weather forecast for today. Of course, it was supposed to rain. As if snow wasn’t enough.
But as for now, she needed a plan. The more people she’d alarm, the better. The seeking must start as soon as possible and it must be on big scale. Otherwise, there was very tiny chance of finding Vic before it would be too late. And as for now, she needed any help she could get.
“Alright, I do need your help. Can you inform everyone in the Ministry and make sure they will prepare a quest group? I’m going back to Beauxbatons tomorrow morning, I will alarm everyone there and send some owls. Do you want me to contact Victoire’s father, Bill Weasley, so that you could give him all the details directly?”
She also made a mental note to herself to make posters and hang them all around Avenue the Magie while she was still in Paris.
